This year marked the 75th Anniversary of Model UN of the Far West. Our team, led by Kenza Kadmiri Idrissi, consisted of 34 students tasked with representing Israel, Brazil, Colombia and the Philippines in the GA, Security Council, 2nd and 3rd Committees, the UNHCR and Commission on the Status of Women.  This session's theme was "75 Years of Diplomacy, Dialogue and Development:  Sustaining the Spirit of the United Nations."

MUNFW was able to secure the Herbst Theater at the War Memorial for opening Plenary. SFSU was recognized as the home school for staffing Plenary, helping over 400 students from 23 institutions, a few dozen Consuls Generals and about 100 invited guests as they checked in.  Martin Morales, in his third year as volunteer faculty advisor, gave a short speech shouting out SFSU's IR Department and presenting the venue's history.

Our students prepared well throughout fall and spring to diligently represent their country's positions in committees and were rewarded at the Diplomat's Banquet with an "Outstanding Resolution Award." Nova Solan, representing Colombia as one of the Rotating 10 in the Security Council, accepted the award.
