Andrew Clark with his team and represenetitives of the Liberian state

Andrew Clark, founder of Strategic Aid Initiatives and IR Graduate student, just returned from a very productive trip to Liberia in sub-Saharan Africa, where he took a team of doctors from UCSF to the country to perform lifesaving heart operations. He was able to meet with the Charge d'affairs at the U.S. Embassy as well as the President, Vice President, Foreign Minister, and Minister of Health of Liberia. His partner cardio thoracic team agreed to perform three heart surgeries at JFK Hospital in Monrovia in 2026 in an effort to train Liberian surgeons to learn these skills. He also had discussions with the University of Liberia administration about a possible IR/Global Health connection.
