Overview

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) was held at CSULB this year. NCUR showcases research currently being done by undergraduate students across the United States, and provides them as learning opportunities for the public. International Relations students, including Tara Shafie, attended the event with Professor Juanita Darling as their mentor. Shafie presented "The 'Cool' Japan Strategy in Popular Culture: A Critical Feminist Analysis", which discussed the use of soft power and cultural exchange through the lens of feminist theory.
